We are heading towards the extinction of all known species.

Anonymous and highly specialized animal private breeders breed their favourite species in captivity. They build handmade habitats that mimic those found in their natural environments. They fit them in their small apartments and hideaways all over the world. Very often, they succeed. They are well connected, even organized on a global scale. They actively collaborate with biologists, zoologists and scientific institutions.

They love nature and they protect it but they can also contribute to its plunder, financing with their money the mafias that control animal trafficking.

Is this the future for the protection of vanishing species? How many endangered species are being protected this way?

¿Is this a new Noah’s Ark?

“THE ARK” will tell this story from an innovative perspective. As wild spaces disappear, nature is being taken into the cities. It is not a zoo what we are talking about, it could be the future habitat for wild life: apartments, garages and workshops. All of them are spaces with something in common: secrecy and a passion to preserve that which many governments are letting die.

Within less than a square mile we find hundreds of animal species in Barcelona. In Tokyo, that number reaches the thousands! This might sound like a Blade Runner story but it is the present. The vaster the urban spaces get, the smaller the natural environments and the bigger the necessity for private breeders to preserve and keep species at home.

This animal migration from the wild into the urban space is what we call THE ARK.
