When Courtney was born, her father, Ian, walked away from fame — leaving behind his rising rock band, The Metal Heroes — to raise her on his own.

Now, as Courtney nears her thirteenth birthday, the harmony between father and daughter hits a sour note. After a fierce argument about freedom, Courtney runs off to get a tattoo at the mysterious studio of Lily — a rebellious teen who seems to have the perfect, no-rules life and three hilarious demonic sidekicks.

But the tattoo isn’t what it seems. In a flash of magic and music, Courtney and Riff, her punk poodle, are thrown into a parallel world where Ian is still a rock legend… and never became a father.

To find her way home, Courtney will have to face the beat of her own heart — and maybe help her dad find his again.
