Palestine
This season, filmmakers Julio Soto Gurpide and Mohamed El Badaoui invite audiences on a powerful journey of discovery, identity and compassion with Palestine, an emotionally charged and visually arresting drama inspired by Hubert Haddad’s acclaimed novel.
In a land divided by history and memory, an Israeli soldier wakes from a near-fatal accident with no recollection of who he is—or which side he belongs to. Lost and disoriented, he stumbles into a Palestinian village where he’s mistaken for Nassim, a young man who vanished years ago during the conflict. Welcomed by Nassim’s mother and surrounded by strangers who call him “son,” the amnesiac soldier must navigate a fragile web of love, suspicion and buried grief.
As the boundaries between truth and illusion begin to blur, his presence rekindles old wounds and unexpected hopes, forcing an entire community to confront what it means to forgive, to remember and to be free.
With deeply human performances and breathtaking imagery shot across Spain, Morocco and Israel, Palestine reveals that even in a place defined by walls and borders, the heart can still find a way to cross.
Based on the novel by Hubert Haddad, Palestine stars a remarkable international cast under the direction of Julio Soto Gurpide (Deep, Nomads) and Mohamed El Badaoui (El Príncipe, Vis a Vis).
